I didn't become a marketing expert because I read books or took courses. I became a marketing expert out of necessity. Four generations of my family are in the outdoor hospitality industry. When the entire game changed and people stopped using printed directories to find RV parks, I had two choices: figure out how to market online or watch the family business decline. I chose to figure it out.
The Origin Story
How RVPME Started: Solving A Problem With Real Money At Stake
In 2011, my family was facing a problem.
For decades, people found RV parks and campgrounds through printed directories like Woodalls. You paid for your listing, travelers flipped through the book, and your phone rang.
Simple. Predictable. Profitable.
But that world was disappearing. Fast.
People were switching to finding parks online. Google searches. Review sites. Reservation platforms. The old playbook didn't work anymore.
Revenue was declining. Vacancies were increasing. And traditional advertising wasn't delivering results.
My family was skeptical about investing in "internet marketing." They'd seen plenty of agencies making big promises with little understanding of the outdoor hospitality business.
But I knew something had to change.
So I applied everything I'd learned about copywriting, persuasion, direct response marketing, and online advertising to build a comprehensive system specifically for outdoor hospitality properties.
